BodyNew MedSpa, the premiere medical spa of Scottsdale, Phoenix, and the surrounding areas in Arizona, offers chemical peels to its patients.

Chemical Peel

A leader in chemical peels, BodyNew MedSpa’s facial and body skin technique treatment chemically exfoliates the skin’s top layers to reveal the softer and healthier skin below. Chemical peels are used to treat a variety of skin conditions, which can include environmentally damaged/hyperpigmented, acne prone and even sensitive skin types. In many cases, wrinkles caused by sun damage, aging, and heredity can be reduced and even eliminated through the use of a series of chemical peels that rejuvenate skin on the face and body. Irregular skin pigmentation, sun-damaged skin, and even precancerous keratoses may improve as a result of chemical peels.

Not only will chemical peels give patients a fresher look and healthier skin tone, but the treatment can actually increase the skin’s tolerance to external factors and control acne. The strength of the chemical peel is determined by the patient’s individual skin type and the degree of damage to the skin. For lighter peels, a physician or a trained clinician can complete the procedure. Stronger peels will always be completed by a physician because they remove skin to a greater depth. This procedure is not effective in the treatment of more severe wrinkles, sagging and bulging, which often require a surgical procedure such as a facelift or liposculpture.

Although chemical peels are typically used on the face, they can also treat back acne scars, which are a common problem among men who suffer from back acne breakouts. A single application of a chemical peel can improve a scar’s appearance by up to 90 percent.

Weekend Laser Peel

This procedure is ideal for those who have an active lifestyle and want more than a microdermabrasion or light chemical peel, but don’t want more than a few days of downtime. The Weekend Laser Peel removes 10 to 30 microns from the surface layer of skin leaving the skin smoother and more even-toned. This peel does not require topical anesthetic and takes only about 30-40 minutes to perform. Most patients experience a significant change in skin texture and tightness; however, some people may need an additional treatment. Downtime is only two to three days.
