Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT)
The endovenous laser treatment is an intravascular laser that closes large veins from the inside. A small laser fiber is inserted, usually through a needle stick in the skin, into the damaged vein. Pulses of laser light are delivered inside the vein, which causes the vein to collapse and seal shut and the blood flow to be redirected through other healthy veins. The procedure is performed in the office under local anesthesia. Following the procedure, a bandage or compression hose is placed on the treated leg. The entire procedure takes just minutes to perform with patients returning to normal activities immediately, including walking right after the procedure. The veins treated actually disappear shortly after treatment. As we all know, life in the desert is much easier when you can wear shorts! TO FIND A VEIN SPECIALIST NEAR YOU, VISIT VEINSonline.COM
