Body Sculpting Center celebrates Earth Day ‘08 with Prestigious Environmental Leadership Award SRP honors Body Sculpting Center for their commitment to enhance and protect the environment.

(Scottsdale, March 2008) This time, Body Sculpting Center has been recognized for preserving and enhancing a different kind of beauty, the Earth’s! On March 19, 2008, Marvin Borsand, D.O., was awarded the prestigious Leadership Award through use of solar energy from SRP Chief Engineer Chico Hunter. Specifically, the facility’s strong initiative in promoting green business practices and implementing significantly environmental initiatives won the honor.

In 2007, Body Sculpting Center launched the newly renovated, 12,000-square-foot state of the art cosmetic surgery center and BodyNew MedSpa utilizing innovative and creative means to make meaningful changes that are helping the environment. The facility has installed a 29-kilowatt system providing approximately twenty to twenty five percent of its electricity needs. In addition, the building contains solar tube lighting to conserve electricity and a xeriscape landscape design that will significantly conserve the Valley's sparse water resource.

Marvin Borsand D.O., the facility’s Medical Director, accepts the prestigious recognition as a leading model for companies in the Valley to take on solar power. “To be successful in the medical field you need to be a forward thinker, always looking at the newest technology and advancements.
